Rich, full-bodied — and simple to make
French press (or cafetière) is one of the easiest ways to brew great coffee for more than one person. Use 10g of coffee per cup — 40g for four cups — to 600ml of water.
What you'll need
A French press, kettle, and something coarse-ground — our Synergy House Blend is a reliable all-rounder here.
How to brew it
1. Boil slightly more water than you need — around 600ml at 93–96°C.
2. Weigh your coffee: 10g per cup (40g for 4 cups).
3. Grind coarse — about the texture of breadcrumbs.
4. Add the ground coffee to the empty French press.
5. Pour in the water and stir gently.
6. Lid on, don't plunge — brew for 3 minutes.
7. Press slowly, then serve immediately.
