Our El Salvador Coffee is grown by the Santa Leticia Farm. Named after the daughter of a President of El Salvador. We recommend this coffee for filter with or without milk. The tasting notes for the El Salvador coffee are:
- Aroma: Tea-like
- Acidity: Medium
- Flavours: Black tea with a sweet syrup peach.
The Farm has a fertile volcanic soil, perfect for growing coffee. They use the washed process to ensure a clean flavour. The variety of this coffee is Red Bourbon which is one of the oldest varieties of Arabica coffee. It grows best at 1,100m- 2,000m above sea level with a red coloured cherry. Bourbon is valued for its complex acidity and wonderful balance. It often has a sweet, caramel quality and nice and crisp acidity which can present a distinct flavour depending on where it is planted.
The farm was founded in 1865, at an altitude of 1,750m. This means that the farmers have had a long time to develop their coffee and this shows in the tasting!
We get this coffee through the IAC (inter-america Coffee) along with many other of our coffees. Find out more about them HERE.
