Our Peru Tunki Coffee is sourced through Freeman Trading, an amazing company with a great mission. This exceptional coffee is produced sustainably, shade-grown at an altitude 1600- 1800m. The Peru Tunki Coffee is found in the Tambopata Valley and gets its name from a local species of bird.
The Tunki bird is also known as the Andean “cock of the rock” recognised by its bright orange colour (Mark’s favourite!). It looks like it has a pom-pom attached to its forehead and, is most famous for the mating dance it performs.
This coffee is Washed by pure spring waters creating a clean flavour in the cup. Then patio dried by a group of local families which have worked with the coffee for many generations. This creates a great tasting coffee which is rooted into the local community; you will not be disappointed!
